If we’re keeping it honest… Colombia has been my reset button in the best possible way. I came for the peace, the clarity, the sunsets, and the kind of natural beauty that forces you to slow down in all the right ways. But let’s get real for a second: the cost of living here makes it easy to stretch this digital-nomad season while I prepare for my next chapter. My lease was up, my spirit was craving space, and I wanted the freedom to wander while I realign my credit, my goals, and my plans for 2026.
And since so many of my Lipedema ladies follow this journey closely, let’s talk about what life actually looks like on the ground here — beyond the dreamy photos and cute reels.
Living Simply, Living Fully
Colombia is one of those places where your dollar stretches with ease. Airbnbs can range anywhere from $12 on the low end to $60 a night for private jacuzzis and breathtaking mountain views. Yes, you read that right: a whole luxury experience for less than the price of brunch in the States.
My beloved single-origin cappuccinos (my current obsession) run about $2–$3, and because Colombia grows some of the world’s finest beans, the flavor is unreal. Let’s just say I’ve learned that many Starbucks blends are basically the bargain bin of beans all mixed together… and I’ll never taste them the same again.
The simple life hits differently when it comes with this kind of scenery, softness, and “savoir faire.”
The Not-So-Glamorous Parts
Now yes, my phone did get stolen. And yes, Colombia can be dangerous if you’re not cautious — whether you’re traveling solo like me or with others. But in the spirit of transparency, I also wasn’t practicing the best travel common sense. I had my phone out with the car window rolled down at night during rush hour. Not my brightest moment. Lesson learned. Moving smarter. Still very much: Me encanta Colombia.
This Season Is Not a Vacation — It’s a Reinvention
What you see online is just the highlight reel. Behind the scenes, I’ve been:
- serving clients
- working remotely from every café with solid WiFi
- expanding my network
- dipping my toe back into dating (and enjoying the food while doing it)
- and most importantly… getting real with myself
I published a book, “LIMITLESS,” and poured some of my deepest wisdom into those pages. I made new relationships that stretched me in beautiful ways. I sat with myself long enough to ask hard questions about who I’m becoming and what I want next.
As a woman living with Lipedema, this season has also reminded me that reinvention isn’t just external. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. It’s physical. It’s about choosing joy over fear, softness over shame, and self-compassion over self-criticism — especially when the world (and sometimes our own inner voice) mislabels our Lipedema bodies as “just fat.” We know better. And we deserve better.
Becoming the Woman I’m Destined to Be
Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps back to spring forward. I’m becoming a thought leader, a speaker, a coach, and a multi-millionaire CEO. That vision is loud. It’s clear. And even if my reality doesn’t always look like the dream yet, that’s what makes faith and manifestation powerful.
I’m delusional enough — in the best possible way — to believe it’s already mine.
Gratitude for the Journey (and the Views)
Until everything aligns, I’ll continue to pick great Airbnbs, chase epic views, and sip some of the world’s best coffee while I grow into this next version of myself.
More than anything, I’m grateful to God for my health and safety, grateful for the freedom to design life on my terms, and grateful for the family and friends who cover me with love, prayers, and encouragement.
To my LipLadyFAB community: thank you for walking with me through every chapter of reinvention. I hope my journey reminds you to embrace your own — Lipedema legs and all — with softness, joy, and a little bit of audacity.
If this resonated with you, drop a comment below. I’d love to hear how you’re reinventing yourself too.
